About This Project
The Abbey of the Hills Inn & Retreat Center fosters the rediscovery of peace. Newly formed when I met the organization and the staff, I wrote the organization’s first strategic plan and implementation plan. Additionally, I helped them launch their very first fundraising department by coaching the events coordinator to become the Chief Development Officer who has now increased donations to the organization by 100-fold – beyond my wildest expectations.
Testimonials
Jill Adelman, the Chief Development Officer, wrote this kind list in May of 2020 – even during COVID – of how she thinks my work impacted The Abbey of the Hills Inn & Retreat Center:
- “Kathleen was instrumental with the foundational work of getting the “start-up;” development program at the non-profit organization I work at off the ground.
- Kathleen is very encouraging in her role as a consultant to the entire development team.
- She advocates strongly for what she believes is the best for the organization as well as seeing the strengths (and challenges) of each team member.
- She is willing to assist with any questions, projects, or advice; does a great job communicating that to the team.
- She uses creative ways to build a team member’s confidence in the development role (role-playing, practice “asks”, checking in with team members, how to make an “ask”, etc.).
- She stretches me professionally to a sometimes, uncomfortable place that inevitably makes me a stronger and more confident chief development officer.
- She is extremely professional in her presentation and consultation work.”
“Overall, our non-profit is stronger and growing because of Kathleen's work, implementation of its mission, consultation, advice and sincere encouragement.”
